Does it use UPnP., or port forwarding?
UPnP
grolschie: Same problem if you forward port 32400 instead?
Hey, I never tried port forwarding. I have a new modem from my new ISP and since using that, UPnP just worked no problemo. I was just curious if others had the same problem.
On another note... I still use 2x Smart Mesh in my setup and they work quite well as APs (wired to the router). But, since leaving Spark they can't connect to the NTP server. I know they are set to ping time1.telecom.co.nz which I understand would only work on a Spark network. It doesn't really bother me too much but my Pi-hole records each one as a hit. So I get thousands of hits per day to time1.telecom.co.nz. It kinda messes up my Pihole logging. Any way to set a custom NTP server on the Smart Mesh?
Just checked my Skinny Smart Modem.... Firmware now v6.00.17 build04.
Must have updated over the last week.... Now same as Spark.
Edit:
Uptime with new firmware: 1 day,13 hours,37 mins,47 secs

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.
I got a 2nd Smart Modem when I signed up for another year with Big Pipe.
I'm trying to set it up as a mesh access point (Ethernet backbone). When I first turn it on I can see it via the primary modem settings:
After 15 minutes or so the primary modem web interface starts being very slow to respond and eventually no longer responds at all. Network communication at this point also slows right down. I suspect something is maxing out the CPU within the modem.
Any suggestions? Has anyone else set up 2 Smart Modems together successfully?
Sorry if this has already been covered.
Anyone used the Spark Smart Modem 2? I'm wondering if it is available with Skinny as well. https://www.spark.co.nz/shop/internet/spark-smart-modem/
My network was down this morning - Spark modem was on but couldnt connect. I rebooted and noticed build number v6.00.18 build02 . I think that's new? Any others?

Having all sorts of bother with my modem today after being rock solid for most of the year. LAN settings seem to screw up and need to reboot a couple of times a day (just today). Any tips would be good. Take a look at below screen shot.
grolschie: Not convenient, but have you tried resetting to factory?
Not yet, I'll give it 24 hours and if it hasn't settled will give that a whirl. Spark said they would send out a replacement as still under warranty so hopefully in a few days will have some options.

I used online chat to ask Spark if I could buy a Smart Modem 2, but got conflicting information.
The first person said it was incompatible with fibre. The second person said it was actually available for my fibre connection and gave me the price to buy ($106.20). When I confirmed I wanted to buy, a third person said they were only selling them to customers with wireless connections.
Has anyone managed to actually get one?
