Axe: What will be the bad points of having a vodafone phone on the telecom network?
Will we not be able to access telecoms equivalent of vodafone live? And will this mean that (if there were free or cheap 3g services such as bebo?) we will not be able to access these servies and get them free?
The phone I had my eyes on hadn't been announced for the new network.

There are very very few current Vodafone NZ supplied phones that will work on the XT Network - the frequency that the XT Network uses is different from the frequencies that Vodafone NZ uses.
Again and again and again and again the same questions - try here for the answers to others.
Chompchomp: Like, how about: There aren't many handsets VF has for 850 Mhz because, again, Telecom has set up a new network that most countries DON'T use.

Chompchomp: What do you mean VF offers very few handsets that run on XT? I count at least 6.....
freitasm: If this is your point, then what would you say about Vodafone's new 900MHz network - that's not used in many countries either?
Reality is 850MHz is used in Australia (Telstra) and the U.S. (AT&T Wireless), provides good coverage, and roaming is possible in other countries with 2100 MHz networks (most of Europe).
