Torquenstein: Hmmm I dont know now actually, I hope it does just get transfered over.

IIRC the Contract is for broadband with Telecom, Not the plan itself. So you can swap between plans each month.

No options for caller ID, mobile favorite?
Are these kept if we already have these on our account?

this is a slap in the face!

Ok, I'm all signed up for the 80GB plan but I'm a bit depressed that the current situation with the internet hasn't be resolved - hopefully by the time the switch over occurs (from 40GB to 80GB) the issue with the internet will be resolved.

So, if we sign up when we are not covered by a contract, does a new one start?

It's a bit confusing having it say on the main product page that it's a 12 month term, and on the signup form saying it will continue on your current contract.

My understanding of it is,

If you are currently on Total Home and in a contract, then the contract will continue and carry over into the new plan.

If you are on Total Home and not on a contract then it will continue with no contract.

As its just a plan change not a service change.

Maybe Doozy could confirm this?

The only thing that has prevented me from switching over to it is

A: A lack of documentation on the extra packs: If you don't have the neighbourhood pack do you pay per call to people in your area. (I presume this is the case)

B: What is the situation with Call Minder? is that extra on top?

A: Local calling is free, the neighboring area pack is an extended local calling package, eg if in Wellington it would allow you to call people up the Kapiti Coast for free, along with other places that are nearby but aren't considered "local" calls. You'd have to call Telecom to check what extra area the pack covers.

B: Call minder and waiting etc are all extras costs.

As I understand it, the package is basically an Anytime phone connection +  Pro broadband with the option of 20 or 40GB extra at $1/GB.
