Does anyone know?

- dialing +64-800-xxx xxx does not work from overseas

- I tried 2 phone cards (Worldphone and Chi-Tel) by dialing their Auckland access numbers, and then an 0800 number in NZ, but it does not work. I tried also the Telecom calling card, with no success either.

I am obviously prepared to pay for such a call, but there just seems to be no way at all?!

Or +64 9 3575100, replacing the + with the code to access international areas. In most countries is 00, but in the US it is 011.

You can dial American 1-800 number from New Zealand, and will be charged a standard international charge, but as johnr said, I don't think you can dial New Zealand 0800 number from overseas.

Thanks for trying to help. My problem is that my correspondent does not have (or does not want to give me) a regular number; the only way to contact them is via an 0800 number. Still trying to figure out a way...

0800 has to settle to a regular number on somebodies network - so must be they don't want to give it out.

common sense is not very common

I can call 1800 in NZ but you have to pay.

I'm assuming that you would still need to dial the international code ie. 0011-64???

This is not possible , only way is to get a local number. One work around I have seen for regularly called numbers is to have a NZ number set to an always divert to the 0800.
