I like the new 'First Reply Since Reset' button added to sub-forums and to Geekzone Live but clicking the button next to any posts under the 'Trending' heading on live.geekzone.co.nz take you to a broken link:

http://www.geekzone.co.nzforums.asp/?forumid=48&topicid=139433&page_no=4#982927 (see the problem, no / after ".co.nz")

Awesome feature though - I just thought I'd let you know of the wee bug :)

Currently using Firefox 26.0

Just wondering - I saw this yesterday and thought the site was broken as it was on the end of every discussion thread making the forum hard to read.

What is this feature for?

Takes you to the first new post after your last "visit".

Great feature, the icon is a little bold though. Just the text "New" would do the trick.

From a usability point of view, would it not be better to put an option checkbox in the users settings and if enabled just do the action. Just wondering why we need additional visual clutter.

Useful feature though, a few sites I use remember where I was in each thread.

Edit: On an update - I see now it is a little icon rather than text.  Additional usability, the further the mouse needs to be moved the larger the icon needs to be for the user to hit it.  Does the icon need to be on the end of the title text (since the title can be quite long). What about on the left side of the post.

clicking the button takes me to the last post of the thread, with unread posts with the 'new' banner still on them. Is that right? or should it take me to the oldest post that is 'new'?

It will take you to the oldest post that is new, the one first posted since your last login previous to the current one.

I'm not convinced it's working as expected for me. I always get taken to the last reply. There have been a couple of times where I'm fairly convinced this is incorrect.

ditto

These are new discussions and replies since your last visit (10-Feb-2014 21:08)

went to this thread http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=106&topicid=139459 and got taken to the last reply, not the 3rd to last which would have been the first new reply since my last visit

i reset read posts after each visit

I have now proven that it isn't working as expected. It just always takes me to the last post.

I will add the timestamp to the front page. Also what browser are you using? Look at URL and see if the anchor tag matches the post (perhaps browser isn't jumping to correct tag).

I have to agree with andrewNZ, clicking the button just takes me to the last post. Using Chrome and URL anchor tag does match post
