Also happened at school yesterday but no problems today
I had exactly the same experience yesterday. Firefox and Chrome would come up with this message, but IE worked ok. I couldn't tell where the message was coming from (Geekzone or something internal to work).
Additionally, it's all working ok for me today, so I just chalked it up to a glitch.
Sounds like to me you've got SSL MITM going on (aka SSL Decryption).

Yeah, I first noticed it yesterday but it's still happening every time I try to load Gz from work... Hmm, it doesn't happen when I arrive at the site through an email link directly to a thread... and https://live.geekzone.co.nz/ seems to work fine, but it does happen on https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums_unread.asp and https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp
One thing I notice on the pages that fail is that it tries and fails 3 times to POST to https://uy81rb.wraug5vv72b28fch.pro/http ?

Ditto here. Refused to work on Chrome at work, worked on IE just fine.
Any of you using adblockers, script blockers or anything similar at network level?

Quite possibly, unfortunately I work for a multinational and have zero visibility of what they use at the network level.
...Interestingly as @kingjj points out it works fine in IE, just not in chrome. But as I mentioned previously it works fine in the same version of chrome with identical extensions loaded on an azure VM and at home. Odd.

I've got no idea what my company is doing, our IT people aren't very approachable.
@freitasm, if you changed something it seems to have fixed this. If not... it appears to have come right by itself ;-)

If people want to check if SSL MITM attacks are being done https://www.grc.com/fingerprints.htm that site tells you the certificate fingerprints for common sites. And you can tell it to fetch the fingerprint for any other SSL site that you want. Just check the cert details using your work computer and check to see if they match.

I've experienced the same problems myself and put it down to a combination of whatever our IT people are doing and GZ's way of dealing with adblocking. I'll check what's going on with us when I get to work later this afternoon.
EDIT: All working perfectly again :-)
