The latest in the highly successful series of Geekzone Pizza events just took place in Kiev, Ukraine. @sbiddle and the artist formerly known as JohnR joined me.

I sponsored the 2x 45cm pizzas and 3x 590mL beers. The pizzas were great, the beer could have been a degree or 3 colder but it hit the spot. There was an unexpected (and unknown why) 30% discount resulting in a total investment of NZ$20.31. Mmhmm.

Who's keen for round 2? We've got the visa on arrival process sorted now so shouldn't be a hassle for you.

No pineapple? @bartender will be disappointed. The sizes look good for the price.

Why wasn't I informed of this? Guys, we need to talk about the poor planning efforts on this pizza evening.

Also lack of pineapple is disappointing. 2/10.

Pineapple was an option but the self proclaimed pizza connoisseur (and guy that stuffed the most pizza into his face hole) didn't opt for that one

You should have opt-in for more authentic food and drinks (eg. salo and horilka)

I'd go to ukrainian restaurant and would try everything :) but essentials to try: borsch (soup), salo (salted fat), vareniki (stuffed dumplings with fruits or veggies), dranniki (hashbrown, could be stuffed with meat), and I would try pot dishes from the oven - very delicious, also order meat plate (this is to go with horilka :)) + marinated veges plate.

Also try kvas + okroshka :)

The tough part there is ordering it, maybe Google Translate will be our friend.

Thanks

As long as you address them as "comrade" you shall not have an issue.

I say fill your boots with pineapple. I know that you have personal issues that takes you down that path. Your personal choices have no impact on me.
