I get the following error when trying to open a link in a forum post. This happens on MacOS, Android or Windows 11. This occurs in Chrome but not Firefox. No Adblock extensions active, pop ups ups allowed. Any ideas?

Your network is probably blocking skimresources. It's an ad redirection we use to monetise links where possible. We have been using for years, and I don't think it should be blocked.

Perhaps some other ad blocking on your computer, browser or network DNS?

Checked my network settings and could not find anything that would cause this. There was a Adblock feature on the Router which I disabled and rebooted the network this did not fix the issue. I have tested with the following browsers both desktop and mobile versions.

Edge.. Failed desktop OK on mobile

Safari.. Failed on both desktop and mobile

Chrome.. Failed on both desktop and mobile

Comet.. Worked OK on both

Firefox.. Worked OK on both

I have cleared cache and data from the browsers and confirmed that they are all using the latest release. This issue has only started in the last week or so. Comet is a Chromium based browser I believe.

Using the different browsers see what you get for your DNS using a tool like this:

- https://ipleak.net/

My off the bat recollection is the first three browsers use your system configured DNS and Firefox is independent, but it's been a while.
