I know this has been discussed a bit but as a barely there geek I am trying to understand what is and isn't legal for downlaoding in NZ

I want to see the new episode of Prison Break before it hits the airwaves next week. Can I legally download this? Are there any legal download sites that can be used in NZ?

E.g. have found many sites where the responsibility is left firmly to be the user regarding copyright ITVZone...it seems to be a mine field! Please help!

There are no legal TV downloads in NZ.

TV download sites at present are restricted to the US and Europe depending on which show you want.  Prison break would be US.

You could also argue that downloading a TV episode that someone else has recorded is not ilegal in the same way that I could borrow a VHS tape of a friend who recorded a show.

Bittorent is what you need if you want TV on demand.

You're right, you could argue that re downloads from share sites in the US but it's a shame that there's no real sites in NZ...wimps
