Post edits timeout after 10 minutes, Why so short?

By the time you have proofread the final post, or think of something to add or change it has timed out.
An hour or two would be better!

I just had a rude comment about posting four posts in a row. This is why. By the time I went to edit it had timed out. Please increase the editing timeout.

Also, when inserting an image into a post, it doesn't display in the editor until the post has been submitted. Thats annoying as well.

Win7 Pro/Chrome browser.

Regards Allen.

We can increase the window for post edit a little, no problem.

As for the image you have to click COMPOSE REPLY to get the full text editor.

The full text editor is not loaded in the Quick Reply box because it's a quick reply box, and loading the editor in every page would make the whole page slower.

Hi Mauricio,
An hour timeout on the edit would be good. Is there any reason to have it short?

I have been using the "compose reply". Just tried it now, and wouldn't you know it it worked this time. Hmm.

Regards Allen.

Apparently the reasoning behind this was users were changing their OP after many posts had been done and this completely changed the intention of the thread or something like that.

I've found an issue; I can see the Edit button on a post that I made 35 minutes ago, but it doesn't save changes. I'm guessing that there's a second check in there when you save.

Something to look at after TechEd :)

Hmmm. Interesting. Will test this, but there's only one place we check it.

In case it helps with troubleshooting, it's post 510242 in the HP TouchPad thread (87361). I noticed that I'd made a typo "update this this" and tried to change it to "update to this".

Edit: Just testing it in this post immediately.
