As Im always on the look out for a bargain I pop into the For Sale forum quite regularly. However to just see posts with no indication of a price, or just 'offers', doesnt seem to make any sense to me.

Surely if youre selling an item you know how much you want for it, so to save the inevitable first post being 'how much do you want' wouldnt it be easier if you had to put a price on it right from the start ?

Cheers

Tell this to all those people selling houses. I often ignore any listings where price isn't indicated.

Price by negotiation.

I agree, when there is not even an indication of a price it definitely puts me off.

We can't require people to enter a price. It's an open message, what would you folks expect? Creating an ecommerce infrastructed on a forum?

The way to get this fixed is every time you see something without a price, point it out in a reply.

It puts me off too, but i understand why people do it - sometimes its hard to estimate what something is worth, and geekzone is a great place to find out.

Ha exactly.  I'm amazed agents haven't twigged to this.  We skip past most houses listed without a price.  I don't want to waste their time if they want more than I can give, and vice versa.  Sometimes it pays to ask though, as everyone else is skipping it too...
