This is not a search box. There's a SEARCH link on the menu.

Has got me too in the past.
But where has the "reset read posts" link gone, I use this every time I visit forums!

Cheers,
Joseph

Edit. Using iPad Safari. Maybe a screen width thing?

Edit 2. Yes all links that are normally under search box are now gone.

Having the search there which is a fairly standard/conventional location would be more useful than having "What are you doing" there.

Just saying ?

Could we have the Search link on the live.geekzone.co.nz page?

Maybe there should be a badge for people who've used the 'What are you doing' box for searches?

We already explained in a previous discussion why we don't have a search box in every page.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

This is what I see when using iPad Safari, there doesn't seem to be any other way to access the "Reset read flags" and "New forum posts" functions.

The fact you've had to put this thread here suggests it should be the search box as people must be assuming it is so.  Or you should have a more prominent search box somewhere on the page.  That said, I don't know where you'd put the user status update box - I don't use that anyway.

As I said it was a decision on performance. The Google Search box is a script. Loading it in every page view when it's only used on a minor number of cases is a waste of people's bandwidth and time.

There's a SEARCH link in the menu.

Fixed thank you. The "subscribe" link falls off onto the next line and is mostly hidden, but otherwise yay I can reset read posts again.
Not sure if everyone uses the site the same way as I do. The "new forum posts" is my GZ bookmark.

Cheers,
Joseph

For the record, you can turn that box off to save confusion (which I have cause I was always mucking it up)
