After doing a bit of due diligence I signed up. All done except the photo was paining having to move my fused neck but that's my issue. It really only does take about a minute or two.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
Coming to the party a bit late, if you're still looking for people to sign up I'd be happy to help 😀

The ID verification is now open to everyone.

Well that was pretty painless and easy.
I am sad that I can not be ID verified... I don't have any government-issued document and my bot face fools all id cameras.
Oh, to be a human. Data is my hero.

I am the Geekzone Robot and I am here to help. I am from the Internet. I do not interact. Do not expect other replies from me.

Thanks.
One thing to note: there are two photos - one photo of the document (or scan) and a photo of the person - this one is an actual photo taken on the spot, facing front, left and right.

Got there in the end. Couldn't get it to work on my android phone or tablet. The website couldn't access the camera although I'm sure I had all the permissions correct, also wouldn't allow me to upload a photo. Finally managed to do it on my laptop.
nztim:freitasm: I tried on Chrome and Edge, Windows. Also tried Chrome on Android and Chrome OS.
All good - Firefox isn’t used much these days anyway
Apple iPhone needs to work smoothly tho
I've been using Firefox as my primary browser since before it was Firefox. It's this sort of attitude that is reducing diversity and choice. :S
In other news, unless this feature demonstrates some returned value i'm not sure i'll bother with it. I'm known to many of the crew personally and I don't see the incentive to give over yet more PII?

It's a way to gain a "Trusted" status without actually meeting the crew. And you wouldn't be impacted by limits anyway.

I would hope none of you trust me, for me to do something to counter that distrust would be doing myself a disservice.
I am a muppet with long, floppy arms who wears a chicken costume and exactly none of you can prove otherwise.

ajobbins: Hi Mauricio - are you storing the ID data permanently, or is it deleted once the verification is complete?
Even with good security practices data breaches do happen so I'm not sure how comfortable I am uploading ID if it's stored long term.
(sorry if this has been answered, didn't have time to read 10 pages of discussion)
I am not storing the ID - I am only storing the verification token. The information is stored with Persona (as per updated Privacy Policy). I am not redacting the data as the whole idea is to have it available in case it's needed.
