Requesting that when editing an existing post on page x (and then saving), the user (ie: me/you) gets redirected back to page x not page 1.

That one always annoys me especially on threads with lots of pages.

Pretty please!

How is that now?

Hmmmm ... let me see ... first I will create a post at the end of this 13-page thread.

Now I have edited it.

And amazingly, I was sent back to exactly the same page I edited!!!

Wow, this really is too much!  2 very long-standing issues have been fixed this week Laughing

Once again, thank you sir!

Totally impressed. Just keeps getting better. Well done!

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

We can't edit our posts after a certain time now? I'm going to have to be more careful with typo's in the initial post!

Correct. We have a ten minutes limit now.

Now I am back on a PC... The change was put in because we caught some users being nasty and later on changing their posts. We agreed internally on a ten minutes window for users to edit their posts.

10min from post creation date or last modified?

Couple of times I ran into the limit when fixing mistakes or adding some extra detail to an explanation I just made.

Considered applying the limit to non trusted users only or something like that?

A good suggestion IMO.  It's not often that you find long-standing members doing anything dodgy with their posts.  In fact, I can't recall it happening, but then I don't see the audit trail the way mods do.

After talking to Nate today I have extended the edit window to 15 minutes.

I'd like to ask people to discuss this item HERE, and not drop off topic comments in other discussions. That doesn't help at all. Talking to you ragnor and grant_k ;-)

Damn that is good news.

It was starting to frustrate me the other day. Thanks for adjusting it.

Let me just add that I'm no edit-the-posts-timeframe-god! I thought 10 minutes would be plenty, by 15 minutes should give you more time.

Have to play this one by ear me thinks Smile

Time is now 8:07
Profile option is set to New Zealand, anyway to get the time zone automagically changed?
Seems kinda weird everyone will have to change there own timezone, when the software could do it in less than a second for everyone.

The only way of doing it automatically is to create a javascript to get it from your PC. We decided not to do it on this version of the software - not yet.

Go to User Profile, update the timezone there...

Can you not go through the database and change it for everyone that way?
There is no need to javascript on the users end.
The time has changed for everyone in New Zealand, so if their settings say NZ, then change the database setting that says which timeone they are in.

It ill be like 20 seconds worth of SQL writting and about the same for it to execute.
