freitasm: After talking to Nate today I have extended the edit window to 15 minutes.

I'd like to ask people to discuss this item HERE, and not drop off topic comments in other discussions. That doesn't help at all. Talking to you ragnor and grant_k ;-)

Oops, I just saw this post now, 5 days later...

Sorry, frustration got the better of me the other day.  Twice I edited my post at the 7- and 8-minute mark.  Each time the EDIT button appeared, but when I saved the edited version, it was not posted.  And yet, I have managed to successfully edit my post on other occasions.  Strange...

Hopefully, the 15-minute window will help in this regard.  I will wait 5 minutes and try editing this post, to see how it goes.

EDIT: I just noticed that my Timezone has been updated this morning, without me needing to do it.  I guess your SQL script mentioned above took care of it.  That is very nice -- thank you BDFL.

mentalinc: It ill be like 20 seconds worth of SQL writting and about the same for it to execute.

It executed in .5 second.

Perfect.

Anyway to add a task to run it automatically going forward?

You to click UPDATE within 15 minutes, not only start the update.

Yeah well, it didn't happen previously when the time interval was 10 minutes.

I clicked UPDATE at 7 and then 8 minutes but the edited post wasn't saved.  It hasn't happened again since you increased the time to 15 minutes, so here's hoping...

The exact same thing just happened again:

-  Original Post at 21:59.

-  Edited post and clicked POST UPDATE at 22:06 but it would not save...   aaaaarrgggh...

Given that it is still earlier than 15 minutes from the time of the original post (22:14) this should definitely NOT have happened!

I had it happen to me too, a couple of hours ago..

I then thought maybe I was over my limit. Went back and reloaded the page, but the EDIT button was still there. I was definitely within my time limit.

Ok, got to the bottom of this.

First the 15 minutes limits only showing the EDIT button. Once you are changing a post you have no time limit to clck the UPDATE button.

The problem with updates not being saved are not because of the time limit. Are not because of us. Somehow, somewhere your ISP (and mine) has a transparent proxy and something isn't working well with those updates. I have added a GUID to each post now so it should defeat any caching mechanism in between.

That sounds MUCH better, thank you!

Ooops, there we go. Amends to amend...

Looking at the code you MUST start editing the post WITHIN the 15 minutes window and UPDATE it within those 15 minutes.

Never mind.  As long as we have a genuine 15-minute window to edit after making the original post, it will be enough.  With the previous caching issue that you have now fixed, I suspect that the real window was only 5 minutes or less.

When I am composing a reply to the left of the post reply button is a Compose Reply button.
Would that reply to the reply I'm currently writing? It just seems out of place there.

Just a quick note that I have doubled the height of the Quick Reply box... I think it's better now.

freitasm: You probably noticed the new design... It's a good visual update, with no new features (except for performance tweaks we've done before). If you see anything strange happening, please let us know...

As before, huge thanks to RedJungle for this update!

Trust me ...

Google Chrome on OS X - this forum: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=72&topicid=60231 has very, very long lines and it seems like overflow:hidden is on, as the line disappears behind the ad bar.

Secondly, any chance (not holding my breath on this one) for an "view all posts in one page" option?

Thanks!
