May I just say, as a female of the Geekzone fraternity, I found those ads (yes, I got them too somehow) somewhat distasteful. Yet its not uncommon on IT related sites. Blueshift could be on to something, with those types of advertisers targeting sites they think might be full of potential customers.

See that little triangle logo in the top right of the ad, that's an "Ad Choices" logo. This usually means that the ad is using behavioral targeting. This could mean that you've visited a similar site or it could just mean that they're targeting males aged 30-45. You can click on the logo and it will tell you a bit more about it and some times allow you to stop it.

Still better than, 'She made $10,000 on google!' or 'You won't believe this secret weight loss drug/tip/story!". At least mail order brides aren't a scam. Well, maybe once she gets here and fleeces all your money...a long scam maybe.

Knowing overseas sellers they'll just change the shipping/invoice/order details and tell you (s)he is exactly what you ordered...

A dollar? Isn't that about what a '6 costs Apple to have it made?
