And blogs. Everything on Geekzone is reset when you click that link.

NokiaRocks: Just login... close the browser... restart browser... go to Geekzone... no new forum messages.

Nope. It doesn't work that way. You need to logout, close the browser and then login again and you will not see any new forum messages

My browser must be superior then as I don't need to logout to clear them.

The link sure does work!

I previously just pressed my bookmark twice.

That basically meant I logged in twice, clearing all "New" tags (unless someone posted while I was clicking)

Maybe you've got Firefox, and you've set to clear your cookies on exit?

Hmm... is it just me, or before did the new symbol clear after you read the post but now it doesn't?

No, it did never marked anything after reading. It was always a site wide read state based on login timestamp. We are only doing a reset on that timestamp when you click on the link.

One interesting side effect from this.

Offers and wanted forum - there's a NEW tag, but I've read all the messages. Going back into the sub forum show no new tags anywhere. Page refreshing with CRTL+refresh on the forums main page isn't clearing it either in my Firefox.

Try the reset again. You will notice it will go away. Just after the first time you reset someone posted a spam message offering some iPhone in Auckland. That was deleted by moderators - hence you saw the "NEW" flag but no actual new message in the list.

Just quickly, is it possible to mark individual threads as read without logging out/in again?

You can't mark individual posts, blogs or forums.

You only need to click the Reset Read Flags link now, no need to logout and login again as before.
