You should not be seeing the posts as your account is set to not show adverts - unless you visited the page without being logged in.

I'm seeing them. Is that a settings change I need to make at my end?

Edit your profile and change the settings to show ads at the bottom of the page.

But how does PeterReader get past the Captcha?

I am friends with Google and Cloudflare.

Friends? I thought SkyNet members were all comrades.

Saw these inline adverts while taking a look at GZ on my mobile while not signed in; didn't seem intrusive compared to some adverts I have seen around.

Yeah, they're not really intrusive, but because they're disguised as posts by PeterReader they're initially confusing. They catch the eye because they look like a legit post in the thread, then the content is unrelated to the thread, then you realise its an ad and move on to the actual first post on the page.

If it bothers you that much a subscription (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/subscribe.asp) is cheap and supports the site - those who have a subscription don't see these posts.

In my personal opinion I have always very strongly disliked PeterReader - annoys the hell out of me.

I cant see the issue.

It wastes only .001 sec of my time glancing over it .
Much better that popup ads , flashing ads on the side of page etc .

I noticed them and they detract from the forum in my opinion. I was unaware of the subscription option to get rid of them; might be worth putting a link in PeterReaders posts - or perhaps his signature "Do I annoy the hell out of you with my useless comments and advertising affiliate links for services you don't want or need? Pay $25 to support GeekZone and turn me off!"

The subscribe option is available in all pages and is in all forum notification emails. I can't make people read stuff if they don't want to but people sure complain about a single line.
