bcourtney: Wasn't a shot at anyone, however admin/moderators were quick to put the issue back on the user rather than take it as potential constructive criticism to help make the site better for the geekzone community as a whole.

I spose the tricky situation we have is this particular feature comes up semi-regularly (along with, the time on Geekzone is wrong, how do I change it?!?!) and there seems to be an even split between the two camps.

Half of the users are happy to get an email each time, they may disregard the first couple of responses that come through, but a later email reminds them that the discussion is still up and going.  The other half are wanting more collation, whereas there's a summary email sent once a day with what's happening.

It will be hard for freitasm to justify implementing this feature (I believe there will be a lot of work behind the scenes to make this possible) when only half the user base will utilise it.

All my $0.02 Cool

In my view, digest notifications are a pain. At the end of the day you will receive a notificaton that something you are interested on may have had some replies. You go and check and see that someone wrote something you disagree with, but since it was earlier during the day the discussion has moved on - will you go back to a point that is no longer relevant? Didn't you just lose another opportunity to put your point across to others to see and comment?

true for very fast moving discussions, not so for more moderate paced discussions (which only get a couple of replies per day or less)
