I'm looking to build a new computer to replace ageing hardware, and this processor would be perfect for the job.

Just about to build a media center and a i5 would be a great addition to the project.

Either way ill be running Windows 7 MC with dual tuners making it a very powerful media center.

Will probibly also ad a blue-ray player for HD playback making it the single platform our PC uses.

It's about time to build a new in-car PC, last one fell victim to a nasty leak which developed after a particularly rainy night.  Needless to say the new machine will be mounted high (or at least on stalks).

This processor would be a great start to that project.

Shamelessly, I will use the Intel i5 750 to play the heck out of Bad Company 2. My E6600 just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. I solemnly swear to dedicate an unreasonable and unhealthy amount of time to playing it.

I also might harness the amazing power of 4 cores for various assignments, and of course browsing Geekzone.

I'm just a student, I don't have much money, and provide most of my work (that is software) through open-source means such as the GNU GPL. In presenting me with this most wonderful item, I am sure that it will aid my ability to produce much better software, much faster, compared to my rapidly aging netbook.

Help me :)

The reason i want one of these is to use it to upgrade my system so that i can then use it to encode my entire bluray collection from disk and then put it on my media server so it is all there at a touch of a button. For this i need to pretty much replace every part in my computer and an i5 would do perfectly

Last holidays, my younger boys (11 & 12), did the free-to-use Otago University Practical Computing course using Python. Next holidays they will be selecting and assembling the parts for our new computer: our ZFS fileserver or, if they get their way, their games computer.

My folks desperately need a new PC to replace their ageing P4 2.53GHz system.  A new processor would go a long way towards getting me off my lazy arse and building them a new system!

I would love a new Intel core i5 processor, as this would help with my studies. I would be able to build a great pc with oodles of ram and two huge hard disks setup in raid 0 to host a whole heap of virtual machines; I need to run for my projects (sometimes up to 10 server 2008 virtual machines) on one physical machine.

My gaming rig is due for an upgrade, it cant handle many of the later games i throw at it, so it'd give it some new life.
Plus i'd love to give overclocking a Core i5 a go :D

I'll be finally upgrading my computer which I built in 2003, it will be great to be able to even play yoville on facebook at a decent speed.
I'll finally be able to purchase a cheap graphics card and not be stuck in the world of AGP and pata drives (as they now call them) and the plus side is my son can then have his own computer woot.

I don't really need this, as my Athlon X2 4200+ is generally fast enough, but I definitely wouldn't mind the performance increase.
