Perhaps I should make myself a "Trusted" user by clicking "Trust this user" on one of my posts. Mauricio said that those who attended the Pizza evening Forums could get this status. Is this still an option?

BigHammer: I hope this gets sorted soon! I've spent the last hour or so removing the ban status on users. And there are more to go! Stop pushing the "Ban this user" link please people!

It seems even though it appears everyone can see the links, they're not active for all. Thank goodness! It's busy enough cleaning up after those that the features are active for.

It's all fixed now!

Actually not. This was a prank we moderators thought about last year.

Here is the tally... In about four hours we let these "Moderators options" showing we had the following "fake bans":

4 freitasm
3 BigHammer, cgrew, codyc1515
2 sbiddle, scottjpalmer
1 VinLew, aboylikedave, geek4me, hkan008, Ivor, joker97, kiitrc, mattRSK, Mattv, nate, nigelj, reven, samdouglas

What a good bunch you are, not clicking the buttons much!

We actually had a lot of LOCK and STICK click but we were not counting those - a lot more than BAN attempts!

I also received a fair bit of PMs and emails to let me know this was happening, some users concerned we would have to restart the server to "fix the issue".

Here is what it looked for you:

And here is how it looks for actual moderators (IP address half gone from the screenshot):

Might not be on your side, but looking at the attempted bans was quite funny... We had discussed who would be the first to try using it, and who would be the first "banned" user. FYI we didn't get it right.

Ah, so funny for you, gotcha. I mostly tell jokes to amuse myself, not others :)

That's the thing about April's Fools jokes - they are mainly amusing the ones "telling" them. The ones on the receiving end don't like so much ;)
