Basically either one of the moderators know you, you've attended one of the Geekzone pizzas, or you have demonstrated exceptional knowledge/participation in the forums (not measure in number of posts, but quality and helpfulness).

I had a thought for the site, kind of an expansion of what was mentioned earlier.

How about introducing a system like the Apple support forums where you can choose answers/posts from people that were helpful to solving a problem, or actually answered the question? Then with enough votes, or if the OP marks a post as being the answer to their question, those posts are moved to the beginning of the thread?

Sometimes when threads get up into double digit page lengths it would be good to know that the helpful stuff is at the start, and the rest of the thread is general discussion, ranting, trolling, etc.

Then people could have like a helpfulness meter against their name which shows how helpful their answers are in relation to the total number of posts they have made.
