bots from china do not care what your site topic is

 

they will hit any site

 

they just scan the internet over and over

 

that is  why i block china ips  on my servers etc

 

 

 

they say 20% + of the internet is bad bots

Today we had an even larger event - more than 1.4 million requests in less than 30 minutes. These came from addresses related to Microsoft Azure and used fake browser UA. I suspect someone using Azure instances for a DDoS. This was mitigated by blocking the ASN linked to Microsoft.

Actually the colours are wrong. If you look at the previous screenshot, most of the requests were for "/" which is the default page. Pages aren't cached.

 

If it was for cached resources the server wouldn't be affected at all...

 

I have now implemented some CPU throttling too.

gosh, that almost sounds like cloudflare did a bad thing. best you move to another provider ;)
