Sorry I can't make it; it's a little too far to get there and back in day from the UK. Have a great time anyway.

As New Zealand's just won the rights to host the Rugby world Cup in 2011, maybe you could start saving your pennies to make the trip then. :)

I have updated the OP to reflect new spot prizes, courtesy of Sprite Software (Sprite Backup for Pocket PC and Smartphone) and phonestuff.co.nz.

I'm still in the process of convincing my fiancee to come along - but I'm pretty sure she will cave - so count us in for 2 :-)

Will be good to meet some fellow members!

UPDATE! She caved - we are in :-)

Ok, another of our geeky mates is keen as well - so we will now be 3 (not two as above).

as an aside - its intresting to see a number of other "low post'ers" signing up to the dinner... I assume they are like me and read a lot, but not post much?

actaully, someone set up a web cam or something? SIP or something equally geeky.
Bonus points for being spotted on camera with a BT headset.

I'm free this weekend but the rogues at Air NZ want $356 for return tickets from Wellington. Anybody want to sponsor me?

Any donation over $50 and I'll buy you a beer! :-)

Here's a better idea, Steve. Why don't we hold onto the $712 that it would cost to fly us both to Auckland and back and, instead, we'll stay home and spend it all on beer. By the time we've drunk our way through that lot, we won't care if we're in Wellington, Auckland or Baghdad!

Now, now... This wouldn't be fair with everyone else here. What do you think?
