What I would like is to forum on the public page that I could be the administrator for.

The forum would be for internet and networking security

I belong to one private forum on facebook of Grant Cardone and I'm on the free forum of Sam Ovens and honestly there is no difference between the two.

People are only interested in pitching their latest and greatest marketing strategies. Maybe that's expected from those types of social media.

On the public pages you at least get more people offering their opinions.

The internet seems to be either all or nothing and I constantly have to make do with whatever is available.

Don't get me wrong I love the internet, it has served me tremendously over the years. But sometimes I wish there was something on it thats relevant to what I am doing

I think only for the Lifetime - PayPal uses the card for the annual recurring payments and I am not sure it would accept debit or prepaid cards.

I only use paypal for international transactions.

What I do like is western union.

I know people associate it with scams. But I was able to use a debit card and transfered out $40 NZ dollars from my Westpac bank and straight into my clydesdale bank in Scotland. And it only cost me $4.00 and no fees at the the other end.

Delorean:
freitasm: You have to meet one of the moderators in real life. Generally.

Ummm. The disadvantage of living outside the major regions. So you need to attend one of the pizza evenings then?

I think it's more than that, there are plenty of people who've been to GZ Pizza nights who don't have the trusted tag. Speaking for myself I think I got it after being part of GZ for 8-9 years or so and semi regularly attending events. I 'm not aware of there being any "published" criteria, nor I suspect will there ever be outside freitasm's head or the moderator forums. My theory is that it's something along the lines of: Contribute in a useful, meaningful way to the community over an extended period of time, and have met up with at least some of the community/moderators at events as well. I'd say that's a good starting point at any rate.

It doesn’t seem to hinder some of β€˜em. 😁

As with anything, trusted status is best taken with a grain of salt. The helpful ones make themselves known regardless of any official recognition.

I can't say I've run into anyone with a trusted tag who was a bad egg. I disagree, sometimes vehemently with some of them about all manner of things, but none of them I've talked to are toxic/bad people IMHO.

I can think of one, based on their business conduct, not their posts on Geekzone. It's off topic, so I'm not going to go in to detail.
