Don't worry - the server didn't even feel it. And should be even better in a couple of weeks when the new server comes live...

coffeebaron: Thanks for your email Mauricio. Removed the feeds, but atleast the "new forum posts" should work now. Hope I didn't nearly crash Geekzone with my 36000 logins

This is not the first time - it happened before with someone else's IE8 beta 2. I might even prevent IE 8 from access our feeds to prevent this behaviour.

I've logeed this to Micosoft Connect, but they can't reproduce it (of course not, this is so random).

Are you behind a proxy? Transparent proxy? Is this your company LAN, or consumer broadband? Any other information to help find this problem? Feel free to PM me with answers.

I guess a lot of people won't be happy if IE8 comes out with this...

Just a standard Xnet Fusion connection, no proxies or anything like that. I could try adding one of the feeds again - perhaps it's a bug in the importing of the feeds from IE7. I could also try with and with out my auto login enabled.

Let me know if there is anything you want me to try:

My system:
Vista Ultimate 64 bit
IE8 Beta 2
Office 2007 Pro
Draytek Vigor 2700
Xnet Fusion with static IP

Rural IT and Broadband support.

Broadband troubleshooting and master filter installs.
Starlink installer - one month free: https://www.starlink.com/?referral=RC-32845-88860-71
