Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.

nztim:freitasm: I tried on Chrome and Edge, Windows. Also tried Chrome on Android and Chrome OS.
All good - Firefox isn’t used much these days anyway
Apple iPhone needs to work smoothly tho
I used my iPhone with Chrome and it went through without an issue. Also was clever enough to use my forward camera first for taking the photo of my DL, then the next step for KYC it used the selfie camera without me needing to specify which camera to use.
I suspect most of the problems folks have had so far is if they haven't enabled Camera permissions for their browser of choice. I know iOS has it off by default and it can be clunky if you get a prompt in your browser saying that you haven't enabled Camera and dismissed that notification in the past it doesn't prompt again.
IMHO using your phone is a far cleaner / easier experience than desktop even if the initial lightbox prompt doesn't seem optimised for mobile or perhaps that was just me. But the pinch zoom to get through the steps were straightforward.
On desktops both Windows and MacOS both require Camera permissions which I have had experiences in the past needing to restart the whole browser even after enabling it in settings.
But I would have assumed over the last few months doing a conference of various platforms using an in-browser experience should mean that we are all used to enabling the Camera setting for browsers.... or perhaps not.
So what do we have to do to get this working? send copies of our COA?

Hi, I used Chrome on Mint, worked fine but it took three attempts to verify my mug shot, I think I was turning to the left and right too much.

@NPCtom:
Could I please be added to the verification system beta?
Sure, done now.

freitasm: You will upload a photo/scan of a document and take a couple of selfies to match it.
sounds easy enough, can i get an add to the beta?

Thank you all who have tested so far. I've found one small thing (a case-sensitive parameter) and fixed that earlier today. It doesn't affect your verification, only the way the validation is linked to accounts on the other side. This has been adjusted and working as intended since this morning.
The plan is to make changes to the forums and other parts of the site tomorrow and release later in the week for anyone who wants to use it.
Again, this is not mandatory - there's only one use case where id verification would be a requirement and that is not directly related to access to sub-forums (which will be still granted based on either Trust, ID verification or the number of posts).
