Hi there

Does anyone know whether or not Vodafone archive old text messages on their system.  I now each text message goes through the mesage centre but I wonder how long they stay there after delivery.

I need to retrieve some old messages from 2001.  Have asked Vodafone but there turnaround for answers is approx 5 -7 working days.

Cheers

OK Thanks

I needed it for a court case and that has answered my question.

I had read about the US courts issuing court orders to retrieve old messages from mobile phone providers through their sms archives, and this was done successfully - I thought it might be possible here too.

Thank you Smile

New Zeland operator must retain this information for up to 7 years , just for the reason you need it for,   can not remember when it was going to be inforce , so they might not have info going back to 2001

Thanks for checking that out.  I think perhaps I may be out of luck going back as far as 2001.

Heard back from Vodafone fraud department,  the only keep messages for 24 hours.  The volume is just too great to keep them for any longer

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I would of thought that they would of have had to get the messages for any court cases like described.
