Has anyone noticed the settings in the Vodafone Router?

This is on a EchoLife HG556a

You can't see the setup using the default login account "vodafone".

If you use "advanced/advanced" you can access the Admin maintenance pages, and new menu options.

There is an area for Voice, where you can set a SIP server, SIP account etc.

Its even pre-populated with SIP.Vodafone.co.nz - but as far as I'm aware, Vodafone don't offer VoIP services? or am I missing something?

Hope anyone can shed light on this.

Dont know if vodafone has a service but configured mine to run with 2talk.

No SIP service from Vodafone. The VOIP builtin option has been talked about a lot already.

Vodafone offer a SIP service but it's not a mass market residential offering. Sign up to their business plans and you'll get a SIP connection to that router.

Vodafone has the Vodafone Easy Office product that uses the VOIP sockets on the back of the Huawei HG556 modem.

It works by having a service line for monitored alarm, fax, EFTPOS (POTS and ADSL) and then two "calling lines" that run over the broadband connection. The calling lines include free calls to local and national landlines as well as Vodafone NZ mobiles.
