Hello,

Tried google and tried the forums but no luck and even the sales people at Telstra and Sky didn't really know. I just wanted to compare the two and see if one is better than the other in terms of capacity and speed.

So far I have:

T-Box:
Capacity: 300GB
Speed: ?

My Sky HDI Box:
Capacity: 320GB to 500GB ?
Speed: ?

I think you missed a critical comparison point.

T-Box:
Capacity: 300GB
Speed: ?
Works: Sometimes

My Sky HDI Box:
Capacity: 320GB to 500GB ?
Speed: ?
Works: very well

Edit, also for Speed, what do you mean, rate of fast forward, or rate of decent down 4 flights of stairs, maybe you could clarify.

The both offer the same thing really - Sky channels. I would list the main differences (have access to both with family with sky and me with tbox)

TBOX
Way cheaper if multiple boxes (I have 3 which would be $50 extra with sky)
Larger hard drive (not sure about mysky plus but def way bigger than mysky)

SKY
Remote booking via android, net or iphone
Book during ads for shows

I have both at the moment, although I don't have T-Box with Sky (just Freeview).

T-Box has had issues for me (freezing) up until recently, when the last update looks to have resolved the freezing issue - for me anyway.

I'd say the Sky box is quicker to navigate, and is very reliable. However, it does cost a fair bit more than T-Box if you're an InHome customer.

I'm looking to switch to T-Box with Sky, but a little concerned about the (re)broadcast quality (started a thread about it, but with no replies - yet).

In terms of capacity, I think only a certain amount is available on the Sky box for non-PPV movie recordings (about 50% maybe?), so the T-Box wins on that issue easily - unless you fork out for MySky+.

By speed I mean't things such as menu navigaiton and finding series link.

I ask as I have just traded my Sky contract for Telstra but wondering if it was a good idea now.

For anyone reading this topic, I decided to cancel Telstra and stick with Sky - If it isn't broke, don't fix it :)
