I'm switching to Vodafone from Telecom at the end of the month. I realise this is a bit subjective, but given the exact same hardware and ADSL set up at my house, can I expect similar speeds and stability from being on Vodafone?

Currently located in Tawa, Wellington.

I switched from Telecom to Vodafone in Newtown last year and there was a marked increase in overall speed. But that would be down to ADSL2 over ADSL I guess

Speedtests went from 8meg to 18 - 20. But the real test was P2P which maxed out at 1.3mbps on Telecom to a maxed out at 2.0mbps on VF. I assume there is some capping as I should be getting much higher and was hitting 8 on telstra back in the day but my cap was super low.

You might get connected to the Red network so might not be the same hardware but yes you should expect no change in performance

The address checker says we're outside the Red network.

In that case while there are certain variables that may change, Most things would stay the same for the physical connection.

If you did select a new modem you may find a difference caused by the new one but that would likely be on a smaller scale.
