Hi, im going down south in a few days and I wanna be able to check my gmail on my mobile via Vodafone Live.

Gmail state that I get access their page by entering "gmail.com" into my phone.

I can get into the GMAIL sign in page on my phone, but once i enter my details, i get an error saying "Data Server Not Available". This also happens sometimes when i try browsing Vodafone Live content.

My question is, is there a prob with my phone or is this a Vodafone issue at the moment? I really just want a reliable way to check my important emails while im away. Ill be at a batch with no telephone line, so laptop and dialup is outa the question.

If you want to use gmail on your phone the best option is to download the gmail java client (assuming you have a java capable phone). It's a very cool app - much like the java version of Google Maps on your phone!

There are 2 ways to access gmail on the go.

1) The gmail WAP site (note that this is not associated with Vodafone live!).
2) The gmail java app (which I prefer)

Note that for the java app to work you need to use the internet APN not the live.vodafone.com APN. Some phones let you set the APN for java applications, whereas some other phones only let you set it globally (which will mean that live! and WAP browsing will stop working until you change it back - making it a bit of a pain to use). Which phone are you using?
