Have you seen how pathetically tiny TelstraClear's existing data caps are and how much overage is on cable?

The most you can get is 150gb a month, and then overage is $2.95 for 2GB.

Every GB counts!

so why not just switch to someone who has bigger caps (vodafone even, now they are the same company) that you can use on ANY site rather than hold out for getting one specific site unmetered on a crummy TCL cap?

Lets look at it this way! TCL customers are going to be Vodafone customers

You do the Math :)

Because the ComCom havn't hurried up and forced TelstraVodaSaturn to unbundle cable, and until I can get UFB, cable is vastly superior to DSL.

I would be happy in the pants if I could use for example SNAP as my cable ISP, but sadly no.

Cable could never be "unbundled" in the same way copper can. It's an entirely different architecture.

As for 3rd party ISP's there have been a number offer services over TCL cable over the years. Last I heard there were still at least 2 or 3 who offer services over TCL cable.

I'm pretty certain Snap used to offer services over cable in Christchurch at one stage also.
