Fibre provisions 72mb/s for Vodafone TV.
Possible speed issue but its not suitable for TV.

Delivering IPTV requires a CIR and multicast. Neither are currently available over the current VDSL2 product offering.

That really depends what your definition of "can it be done as a regular stream is".

If we're talking about a single channel, yes it could. But we're talking about 100+ channels covering 800Mbps of traffic here, so the answer to your question is no. There would be no guaranteed QoS and exceptionally inefficient delivery with no multicast.

IMO there's too much varience in VDSL speeds between users to be able to successfully roll out a VDSL version of the current Vodafone TV offering.
The issue wouldn't be that much around you must have X Mbps to use this, it would be the "Oh I've got VDSL,I'll change my sky over to get this".

Unfortantly not everyone is like @TimA and gets 60Mbps off their connection tongue-out, With the majority I've seen somewhere between 20Mbps and 40Mbps

An on demand Netflix style service I could see working but for a standard "Tv" service where people would expect the same style of Watch one channel record 2 others, you're better of getting Sky / Freeview.

/Standard disclaimer, This is my own opinion not Vodafones, blah blah blah, I don't work in the TV side of things so have no idea whether or not they're working on such a product.

I'm not sure what point their would be sending out people a STB that could only pick up a limited number of FTA channels.

Deploying any large scale service without multicast is also doomed from the start and multicast isn't currently available with the wholesale VDSL2 offering.

I wouldn't bother with a set-top-box that streamed the FTA channels. If you have broadband fast enough to do that you can probably receive them already.

I was thinking of streams for PC / Tablet viewing, not via a STB
