Not sure if anyone else has had this lately, but I got a text message from 798, saying "+6421<number> wants u to call them.". Is this a new service of Vodafone's? What is 798? I have no idea who the 021 number belongs to either (although it appears to be legitimate.

Anybody else received any weird texts like this?

"Callme"? Never heard of it. Found it on the Vodafone site though. That explains it. No idea who the number is :)

It's a free service tho IIRC for reasons like if they have no credit at all and can't send a text or call you directly.

I don't know anyone who uses it now but in intermediate/high school we would use it all the time. Even if we didnt want them to ring we would often use it to arrange met ups. We'd tell teacher we need to go bathroom or get a drink, request that text to be sent to friend once we got outside (we all knew what it meant beforehand), and meet up outside for a gossip session.

But I think both parties have to be on Vodafone? So kind of limits it's usefulness I guess now days. Especially since most pre-paid connections get free minutes and texts now.
