Hi folks,

Yes, it's the news many of you have been waiting for - I'm pleased to announce that our fibre plans are now available over Enable Networks in Canterbury, and will be coming mid-month to UFF. We will then have coverage over all four local fibre companies, as well as our own cable network in Christchurch, Wellington, and Kapiti.

Vodafone Fibre over Enable's network is available in the Canterbury region (outside of cable areas).

Vodafone Fibre over Ultrafast Fibre will be available mid-month in Cambridge, Hamilton, Hawera, New Plymouth, Tauranga, Te Awamutu, and Tokoroa.

I'll have some more information about plans and pricing for you next week.

TIL it wasn't available already. I just assumed it was.
I guess better late than never!

Outside of cable areas though is pretty rough. I guess they have to get return on that asset though.

If you want more upload change ufb via another provider

It's convenient to stay with Vodafone, no one else offers an all in one solution for phone/internet/sky like they do, and while they are not perfect the pro's currently outweigh the con's.

Main con's I really want changed are
A: UFB availability in HFC areas
B: Giving HFC customers equal or better upload in the interim
C: Integrated mobile/fixed/internet/sky bill. Having two separate bills is annoying, and not something I found out about till after I'd switched my mobile back to Vodafone hoping to eliminate an extra bill *sigh*

Allowing me to have UFB for internet and HFC for TV in the same premises would also be a nice to have.. Or better yet UFB and cable into the same premises with a router that auto failed over to cable if UFB went down.

No Need for this, VodafoneTV is delivered over the UFB network.

Waiting on confirmation from product managers. This is a soft launch for now, so best thing to do at this stage is have a word with sales if you're interested. I understand there should be some promotions for these new areas. :)

No Need for this, VodafoneTV is delivered over the UFB network.

in the case of being in a HFC area however, would it not be more cost effective for vodafone to provide TV over their existing HFC network rather than paying for the extra bandwidth VFTV would be ontop of the UFB connection?

Ild assume that is why Lias is wording it that way.

After a 45 min phone call I have got Fibre ordered, the CSR didn't really know anything about launch offers so could only offer me 30/10 or 100/50 (I've taken the 30/10 option).
If a launch offer shows up in the next few days I assume I can take that option?

Got about a 3 week wait for getting it installed.

Good stuff, sounds like the lead times aren't too bad there (I've been waiting six weeks for assessment of a potential fibre install and now have to cancel it - joys of being in an MDU!).
