Anyone in the Mt Cook area having issues with cable at the moment? I am getting my 10Mbit up but only about 5Mbit down instead of my usual 120+. I have tried rebooting everything and currently have the modem plugged directly into my computer.

Have been on hold with Vodafone for the last half hour or so, so maybe I am not the only one having issues?

Where did you test to and how long has it been like that for?

Tested to the Wellington and Auckland Vodafone Speedtest servers. It had been very bad for at least an hour or so before I posted, but may have been a problem for longer. I only noticed because stuff I was downloading got slower and slower as time went on. Still on hold to Vodafone after 95 minutes.

Just tried some more speedtest. Got one up to 70Mbit but the next was down to 50 and the one after that was 14.

Based on the time on hold, methinks there is a problem somewhere on your network?

The hold time is cause of the weather passing over part of NZ right now causing loads of outages did you check the Vodafone NZ status page?

If I was you I would be happy you have internet connection up and see how it is tomorrow

Same poor performance on 130/10 cable here in Lower Hutt. Topping out at 14Mb/s download to Wellington Vodafone speed test site, most results about 5Mb/s though.

Have hung up and will see what the connection is like tomorrow. Not like I don't have UFB to fall back on :)

Yeah! In my day we to queue 5 days in the snow to even get a chance to stroke the only v.21 modem in NZ, stop your complaining Brumfondl! :-)
