Back on the 3rd of October I upgraded my Vodafone ADSL package from 80GB to unlimited.  The change went through fine but then I started getting people telling me that when I rang them from my landline I was coming up as "Private Caller".  I assume that somehow a caller ID block had been turned on so I rang VF on the 6th and spoke to a lady who said she would get the block turned off and it would happen after midnight.

I tried calling my mobile from my landline the next day and it was still coming up as Private Caller.  I waited a day just in case it takes a bit longer, but on the 7th it was still not working.

Over the next few days I tried calling VF but each time I had to give up after waiting for more than 30 minutes on hold.  Friday morning (10th) I managed to speak to someone who said that the change should have been pretty much immediate, no need to wait till after midnight, and she would turn off the block.  Unfortunately at that point we got cut off.  Since she said it should have been immediate I waiting half an hour and tried calling myself, still not working.

I called back but this time from my mobile so I could use the call-back service.  5 minutes latter I got called back but then had to wait on hold for another 5 minutes before I could talk to someone.  Eventually I got to speak to someone who said since I was cut off last time he'll bump me to the top of the queue.

I spoke to another lady, explained the situation and she could see my previous calls and said it should be easy to turn the block off and that she'd do it but I had to wait overnight for the change to work.

Today (11th) I tested it and it's still not working.

Suggestions?  Anyone from VF want to look into it for me?  How did this happen when all I wanted was to upgrade my ADSL plan?!?  I lost all my best-mates that I had set up on the landline too, had to set them all up again.

Oh, I'm an ex-TelstraClear user if that makes any difference.

Send @Nikt a DM to take a look (I think he is on holiday till next Monday)

I thought these features could be turned off and on in customerzone or My Vodafone (don't hold me to this)

Yabanize: Try this?  http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/5467/~/how-to-block-your-vodafone-home-phone-number-(caller-id-restrict)

Yeah I saw that when I first had this problem.  Dialling *32 didn't do anything.  I'm guessing it's because I'm an ex-TelstraClear user and therefore I'm still on the old TC platform and those instructions are for people on the Vodafone platform.

Thanks John, I'll drop Nik a note.

I think My Vodafone lets you turn this on and off but as far as I can see CustomerZone doesn't allow the user to make any changes at all to their landline (except set up Best Mates).  If I'm wrong then please let me know where in CustomerZone I can access landline features.
