Hi,
I.m still on one of the old GET plans which has 10 included PXTs/month.
Unfortunately every time I send or receive a PXT my account seems to be charged $0.10.
I am using a HP Ipaq h6365 and believe that the settings are entered correctly for MMS etc... as per the 'sticky' posts at the top of the forum.
Whenever I send a PXT or receive a PXT the 'G' GPRS symbol at the top of the windows mobile screen changes and doesn't return to the inverse G which is normally present on phone initiation. I wonder whether the $0.10 is generated by the IPAQ somehow sending some data to 'logon' to GPRS - is this avoidable. (or is it a billing problem)??
What makes this most frustrating is that every time that Vodafone sends me one of the their regular 'Vodafone Music' MMS's (which occurs every Saturday despite the fact that I have tried to cancel these) I get charged $0.10.
Anybody have any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Contact Vodafone. They changed their billing systems and some problems are still hapenning.

I doubt it has anything to do with the configuration on your Pocket PC.

I called VF AND I must say that I am very impressed with the service today - the '777' call was answered in seconds, the lady whom I spoke to acknowledged that there was an issue immediately, came back to me very quickly and said 'accounts' will look into it and get back to me within 3-4 days with a resolution.

What was even more amazing was that while I was on the phone I received a personal message from Paul Brislen offering assistance - if this is an indication of where Vodafone NZ Customer Service is heading then I'm glad I've stayed with VF.

FYI: I had the exact same issue with my On Account SIM card. Worked fine on prepaid (no charges what so ever).

Thanks to some people at Vodafone, I learned that apparently my phone was phoning home on new GPRS sessions. I can't guess why however I didn't have the time or energy to look into it further. However its interesting that its happened to another person.

Yes, I noticed this to when I called on Friday at 5PM - less than 30 seconds of hold time, very impressive compared to previous experiences.

Do the charges happen when you put your SIM into another handset and send a PXT?

No charges that you know about you mean, without a breakdown of it, its very hard to know what you are charged for each action you do on the network.

As for the continued sending of the vodafone music MMSpam - perhaps a case for the new antispam laws? :D

Lets put it this way - $20 balance - received MMS - no balance change as far as I was aware.
