Are VF's CSRs able to negotiate bonus data, if I was to renew my contract on a different plan?

I'm looking at changing my [out of contract] $40 plan to one of the new $39 month to month plans as they include AUS texts calls [to landlines]

My only reservation is that currently my plan includes 500MB with 1GB bonus data, which is generally only just enough for me.

The new plans only include 1.25GB which would either see me going over and paying extra or constantly monitoring usage, which is a pain.

I'm happy to do a 12 month contract as opposed to the offered month-to-month but I don't want to sit on hold for half an hour or more just to find out.

Any recent experience with sign up/ renewal bonuses?

TIA

How many minutes do you realistically need? Why not just get one of the Prepay plans  and then add one of these boosts to customise the plan to your needs? The minutes and data on Prepay rolls over so it sounds like it would be flexible enough to meet your needs. You'd also be eligible for some neat little Fantastic Fridays offers, data deals, exclusive boosts, etc.

Btw, your question is framed in such a way that you want a Vodafone person to say that we can alter plans outside of what is advertised on our site. Even if one of us was able to do that, I doubt anybody would admit it. =)

Thanks for the response and I understand your last point. However I know first hand that you can [sometimes] get a better deal than is shown on the website, as my last renewal and change of plan came with 1GB per month bonus data not advertised.  I was just wanting to know if it was CSR rep or a sales team that were able to do this.  I should have asked that question in the OP really.

No, generally minutes and texts aren't a huge selling point for me in plans as I use data based apps like Viber and use very little of each by the end of the month. But being able to call a friend in Australia at no extra cost on a landline that is more reliable than Viber, would be good, and all at the same price [less $1] than I am paying now.

Additional information: I choose an on-account plan to benefit from the reduction in the cost of my cable plan.  Having been on pre-pay for years, I found that being on a $40 plan was only slightly dearer than I was spending on pre-pay and required less maintenance, top-ups, spend management etc.
