Is it possible to run multiple sure signals on the same broadband line? Before I go and purchase a second one.

We have a situation at Glinks Gully (Northland West Coast) where there's very few people who can get broadband because of insufficient copper pairs to service all dwellings, and to top things off there's absolutely no cell reception on any of the networks unless you drive 1km to the top of the road. I'm going to be connecting up a new neighbour to our vf bb connection using ubiquiti gear and he wants to run a suresignal, we also run one too, will this be a problem?

The neighbour also found he can get a voice line but not broadband due to voice lines being doubled up on the same pair 1+1 ?

Yes it will work but how well will depend on the broadband speed and how stable the connection is,

Thanks, we get about 10mbits down and about 800kbits up, cabinet was upgraded last year, but did used to be on a conklin

According to this thread, yip, should work fine.

Apparently the sure signals are better if they are enough apart that their coverage don't overlap.

Try to max your connection speed (install master splitter etc)

in regards to VDSL check spark to. At my address we could get adsl via spark, but not via Vodafone. Waited for UFB in the end, have it now.

Your a good person for helping out your neighbour like that.

Apparently the sure signals are better if they are enough apart that their coverage don't overlap.

Make sure they don't over lap with signal (sounds like the houses might be far enough apart that this wont be a issue). You can't hand a call over from 1 femto cell to another the call will just drop. Also if they over lap it will add to the battery draining a lot faster as the phone will bounce between the 2 none stop, which could add to missed calls as well. Also keep them as far away as you can from wireless routers etc.
The new model for home users has 8 channels as well so 8 calls as such, the older 1 was 4

IIRC different ISPs treated automated prequal results differently. There are different statuses for services at an address like positive, negative or indeterminate. I think we might have played it safe and reported indeterminate as negative but since then there's been improvements to the data and address checkers so it's now more accurate overall.

So - VDSL availability will most probably be the same between providers. But, even if you technically can be provisioned with VDSL it won't necessarily be the best product for you, we have had a few migrations back to ADSL, all really depends on the local situation. Running multiple sure signals is a better idea on VDSL because of the faster upload as well as download. Will still work on ADSL, but experience will be better on VDSL.

We currently have a VDSL at ADSL price promotion available, and it includes a master filter/splitter install as well on a 12 month term, you only need to read Geekzone for about 20 seconds before hearing about how good they can be. ;)
