Already on Xnet DSL account and want to make use of the free VFX line I read about here. Just wondering how many days does it take to activate after I sign up? Will I be given an Auckland number with free calling or is this an option?
Cheers

brianthomas: But my question is what if I am using it behind a router which is behind a modem, why do they care about the MAC of VFX device or should I be giving them my modem's MAC address.
Yep good as gold, you just have to ring up and tell them that this person is authorised to make changes on your behalf, that would work the other way as well,
brianthomas: thanks Maverick.
Spoke to my friend and now I am thinking maybe its better to just get a new number from Xnet rather than port the number over. If we wanted to do this, whats the procedure? Do I have authority to sign up to naked DSL on his phone line? Or again do I need him to ring xnet after first giving him authority on my account?
Secondly, If we are going to do this then whats the procedure? No customer link needed right? And what kinda downtime to expect?
My plan is to
1. sign up to VFX first on my UBS dsl and keep the telecom line
2. switch to Fusion and just keep the VFX number
