vodafone is an expensive company and they are a bit of a ripoff (in my view). their plans are the most expensive i've seen in a while. their match for Boost TXT (telecom) is "txt 2000, which charges 10$ on top of your 1st fifty texts.

(Sorry about the original, i was in a bit of a bad mood. I Apoligise.)

Yes, ouch.

My opinion is that Vodafone prepaid pricing plans aren't really that bad, with bestmate and the 2000 SMS plans, its quite good value compared to plans a few years ago. Of course there are other issues.. and some that just follow big telcos.

How can $10 TXT2000 VF to VF be a match of telecom $10 TXT 500 SMS to any network in NZ (match means same)

Did Telcom not match VFNZ with Boost TXT 2000 $10 TCNZ to TCNZ

Correct me if I am wrong!!

Why would Chuck Norris need to *pay* to use the phone, shouldn't the phone company pay him?

Vodafone is losing out big time in the marketplace with no Prepay TXT plan offering TXT's to both networks. You simply can't afford to be on Vodafone Prepay if you know people on Telecom who you TXT frequently. I just fail to understand why Vodafone haven't made TXT600 (or a customised TXT plan) available on PrePay, Vodafone used to be the cool network for young people, now so many have moved to Telecom that their friends all have as well primarily because of the TXT plans.

When was the last time you saw a boy racer car with "offerz 021xxxxxxx" on the back? All you ever see are 027 numbers and since you can't port to Vodafone Prepay you can be assured they are all Telecom connections.

@ sbiddle: That's so true - for both points. I remember when VF used to give away key rings with the purchase of a new phone, or when the competition to win a flight around the pacific with some mates was running, or when you could swap your 025 phone for a brand new VF one.. I think their theme song was "Boys & Girls" by Blur in those days too/

Now I feel old. Thanks Tongue out

@ informationminister: I take it that you're aware he supports Mike Huckabee, [who some say is] the only person who could be worse than Bush.
That aside, what's wrong with Ma Bell? There was a good deal of research carried out at the Bell Labs. And, thanks to SBC's various acquisitions, AT&T is nearly back where it used to be...

Chuck Norris pays for quality service.

Chuck Norris gets paid to take freebies and substandard Telco services.

I catch a train from middlemore hospital to Britomart every week day morning and its full of teenage kids and I would say %90 have GSM handsets and I would say %50 of the %90 are 3G (WCDMA) handsets!

Is that because they keep waving them around trying to get signal. Or every 5 minutes they loose all signal and you get a lot of people saying 'hello, can you hear me? Hello!!?!?'

By the way, it that spinning cell site in Wellington really meant to spin off the building?
