Just wondering if anyone has any insight into when Vodafone may get around to releasing the Nougat (Android 7) update to Samsung S6s? Its been out in Australia, Singapore, and a lot of other countries now for quite a while.

I asked on Facebook and they said they don't have any information on it - sigh...

VodafoneNZ does not release the update Samsung Korea does, Vodafone can only test and approve once they have it to test, Testing and approval takes max 5 business working days

Linux: VodafoneNZ does not release the update Samsung Korea does

I admit I don't understand exactly how it works but I would have thought that Vodafone should have some idea about when they'd be expecting a test build (and hence a final release) etc as I assume that Samsung need a tick from Vodafone to release?

It's a SM-G920I. Its company provided but would have come direct from Vodafone most likely.

I edited my post above and added further information but I have seen updates once approved take up to 8 or 10 weeks to get pushed out by Samsung

The social media team / customer service have zero to do with approving updates it's all done by another team in VodafoneNZ that is not customer facing

Thanks - saw your updated post just after I hit save :)  I understand that the social media guys etc. have nothing to do with approving updates but would be nice for them to show some initiative and contact the approval team and ask what the current state is. Although as there was another post about how much the social media for Vodafone has gone downhill recently I'm guessing that must be above their paygrade :(

So turns out patience is rewarded. Thought I'd just try a manual update check before and I have now Android 7 downloading onto my S6 :)

I would imagine if it costs money VF will defer it....they probably wouldnt see it as essential.

They can't even get FibreX to work well.

No it does not cost Vodafone money and the other comment is just off topic if you want to talk about FibreX then post in one of those threads
