Recently made the call to switch to Vodafone and just got a text from Vodafone:

From Vodafone:
Congratulations, your transfer to Vodafone will begin after 07/08/17 Mid-day. Please leave your new SIM switched off until this phone disconnects

The problem is I will be in the US on the 7th. Will this initiation of my Sim still work when I am overseas? Or should I put it in my phone before I leave?
