I finally decided enough is enough regarding Orcon's speed issues, so signed up for Vodafone Broad Band today. I'd like to wait it out, but working from home for a US company, I just can't as it's impacting on productivity.
Initially I attempted to sign up on-line, however every sign up link returned a "The page cannot be displayed" message from IE, so ended up phoning in and chatted to a very cheerful and courteous person who took me through the process.
I realise that Vodafone acquired the artist formerly known as Ihug <grin> but didn't fully appreciate that there appears to be no integration at this stage between the Vodafone Mobile billing system and the broad band system. I thought I'd be able to just quote my Vodafone cell number or account number and make the process simpler, but apparently not, at least, not yet. Is this coming in future?
My main question relates to the $30 a month to double your broad band from 20 to 40gb. My friendly salesperson wasn't totally sure of the answer to this question. Do you only pay that $30 when you exceed your 20gb, or do you have to commit to the 40gb on an ongoing basis. To put it another way, is it the case that if I use 19gb, I pay $30 less that month than I would if I used 21?
Thanks for any help, and thanks also to Vodafone for a good experience and an informative follow-up e-mail when the process was over.
