So we recently got FibreX on Monday and was told it would up and running today at full speed. I came home and tested on multiple devices such as my PC (which has a 1Gbs port), A laptop over Wifi and 2 Phones. All speed test came back throttled at 52Mbps on all devices. I'm not that up to speed (ha) on networking stuff and I'm unsure where to go from here.

I'm currently using the Ultra Hub Plus Modem which they sent us and I even went back to my HG659 to test and all the results are the same.

I'm super confused and annoyed so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Testing on wifi isn't the best to prove out anything.

rates are inline with the 50/10 bs2a profile though, so i'd suspect change of speed hasnt been completed yet.

Have you simply asked the callcenter if it's done on their end?

I got a text from them saying the connection with Vodafone is now active so I assumed I would be getting the proper speeds over cat6.

If i'm not getting better speeds tomorrow i'll call them and ask whats going on. The whole experience has been so frustrating.

Just cause your PC has a 1Mbps/s port does not mean it's going to work at that speed, Have you checked for newer drivers?

So many threads on Geekzone about this and end users getting slow speed over Ethernet

Testing over Wi-Fi is not reliable as it's shared bandwidth

And why don't you call Vodafone now and ask them to check if it's setup correct on the Vodafone side

Drivers are up to date, everything is fine.

Only tested over wifi on my phones.

Great that it's sorted.. but just to clear something up, in your post you said "UFB Speed throttled" then "recently got FibreX".

UFB and FibreX are very different things.

"UFB" is the nationwide fibre network being rolled out by the government in conjunction with Chorus, Northpower, Enable, UFF etc. It's a true FTTH fibre network.

FibreX is Vodafone's misleading branding for their HFC network (what most other places call "Cable"), and HFC networks are inherently inferior to FTTH. Vodafone will say this isn't the case until they are blue in the face, but given how much they spent buying it they kinda have to keep on saying that :-P
