My Dad has just bought a Nokia N95 8G a few days ago. I have WiFi set up for him in his house and in his office, so internet access is taken care of. But he wanted to ensure that there will be absolutely no mobile data charges on his phone, so I thought I will just delete all the Vodafone Access Points from the N95. But I want to make sure that I won't stuff up anything by doing so, so I thought I'll ask here first.
The access points section on the phone looks like this
- [Home Wireless]
- [Office Wireless]
- VF NZ Gateway
- Data bearer: Packet data
- Access point name: live.vodafone.com
- User name: None
- Prompt pasword: No
- Password: **** (masked)
- Authentication: Norml
- Homepage: http://live.vodafone.com
- VF NZ Internet
- Data bearer: Packet data
- Access point name: www.vodafone.net.nz
- User name: None
- Prompt pasword: No
- Password: **** (masked)
- Authentication: Norml
- Homepage: None
- VF NZ PXT
- Data bearer: Packet data
- Access point name: live.vodafone.com
- User name: None
- Prompt pasword: No
- Password: **** (masked)
- Authentication: Norml
- Homepage: http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend
What if I don't really want to delete the access point just incase the old man changes his mind in the future? Can I just change some settings in each one, (e.g. change all the Data bearer to WLan instead of Packet data) will this also disable mobile data?
Thanks.
