Hi

I've just had to get a new phone as my old Nexus 5X fried itself on Friday last week.  I have a corporate assigned vodafone sim which has worked fine in the old phone  as a BYOD but my new nokia is not getting a data connection.  It was sold by Noel Leeming as network unlocked but for what ever reason it won't work outside of wifi at the moment for data.

Has anyone else got the newer 2018 nokia range built around the Android One program working on Vodafone?

Thanks,

Chris

Do you need a special APN or anything?

Don't know, but it appears that the APN is not filled out, although I don't know if it should have an APN filled in if its automatic.

edit:  rebooting the phone did nothing and data is only on via wifi.

If the Internet APN is set to ' www.vodafone.net.nz ' the handset will not get 4G access the APN has to be ' vodafone '

If the APN field is blank then set it to ' vodafone '

Cool thanks everyone, setting the APN to vodafone as per linux's instructions has fixed this now.  Its weird that it hasn't created an APN config automatically.

Most phones and networks won't do this automatically - Android has a setting to get the data/MMS APN via a OTA push message which then downloads it to your phone.

I've never had a problem with APNs not being set on Android phones, import or local purchase. The only time I had problems was with a windows mobile 6.1. Phone where I had to add the APNs.

I haven't either, this is the first time that the APN was not set for any of the functions bar SMS/Phone calls... I originally thought that I required some form of access approval from work for transferring to another BYOD but thought I would ask here first.
