VFX / DVX Platform Upgrade,

The VFX platform will be having a major upgrade over a 2 night period the dates are Tuesday the 9th and Wednesday 10th September.

The upgrade will be carried during the early hours of the morning between Midnight and 6.00am on both days and should cause only minimal impact, there should not be any major interruption to phone service but there may be on occasions the odd call failure, there may also be at times no access to the MyVFX web portal during this period and the VFX Manager may also not be able to access the system at times.

This upgrade will allow for some new features and services to be deployed to both the DVX and VFX offerings, so watch this space on the changes ...Undecided, there will also be a slightly different look to both the web portal and the Call Manager in the advanced feature package, changes to Call Manager will be the most noticeable as it changes from a java client to a flash one.

Edited - Examples Removed

Not meaning to be rude, but have you ever thought of contracting a graphic designer to help with the user interface?

Just a thought :)

I am looking forward to the new support for DND, Call forwarding etc straight from supported handsets.

This will be a huge advantage.

The software is Broadsoft's and is simply skinned (believe it's only the background) to suit the operator. There potentially isn't a lot WxC can change.

sure, but how bout getting a logo with transparent background, so it matches all pages... or would the skin not accept .gifs/.pngs?

little things count ;)

This is just a notification of an upgrade to the platfrom that will be occuring on the dates detailed.

It was not out here to turn it into a discussion on what things may or may not look like it was to give a heads up . There are a number of plans a foot on a number of different things and will start coming online after the upgrade and this may not even be exactly how it looks, but we won't be putting that into the open yet,

So if you would like to discuss how badly we do things could you do so in another thread please or preferable that thread could even start after the upgrade perhaps.

Yes, one last off topic post and i'm done.

i think if you're going to post screenshots of an unfinished beta or unreleased software on a public forum, then get testy about people saying it looks ugly, you dont have a leg to stand on. The screenshots weren't necessary at all other than for bragging rights.

Perhaps wait till the product is nice and finished (or at least presentable) before showing it off.

If it's unfinished why advertise it? i thought the post was a courtesy notice about network maintainance... People are just happy to know in advance.

Over and out.

Actually no they weren't for bragging rights at all, this is the one main visual difference in the upgrade and we did not want it to take people by surprise so thought it was worth showing an example, but take your point ,

examples removed users can see the differences when they logon next week.

Many thanks for the update advisory Maverick.  It would be nice if a lot more companies were as pro-active as yours...
